Lack of sleep may be my friend this week, and I may actually score an early spot in this cue! Yee-haw!
Each week on Friday Fictioneers, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields leads a group of writers from all over the globe, in a flash-fiction challenge. A single photo prompt; a story that has a beginning, middle and end; a goal of 100 words– everyone is welcome to participate. Check it out the details, and the wonderful stories in this week’s collection, here.
I always appreciate feedback, positive or constructive. Please leave a comment, and tell me what you think.

“Could you please rub a little sunscreen on my back,” she whispered, his face just beside her.
He sat up and poured lotion in his palm. His hands caressed her soft skin, as he studied every freckle, every nuance of her perfect body.
“I think I would know your back anywhere, your skin and lines… no matter how many years pass, I could feel this body and know it’s yours.”
She smiled, taking in the deep cerulean water, the white sand, and his hands across her back.
Dolphins played and danced, as they made love in the sand.

Dear Dawn,
My first thought when I saw your link was, “I hope you didn’t stay up waiting for the prompt.” 😉
Nice pleasant beach scene. I can hear the waves and smell the lotion.
Shalom,
Rochelle
PS Now get some sleep!

Thanks Rochelle. I was up all night, and may be up for a while. Fortunately, I have FF to keep me company, and for that, I am truly grateful! Shalom!

Love it. But the first thing that popped into my mind after I read the last sentence was doing just that on a beach in Aruba. The sand gets everywhere and it is not pleasant!

Oh, I’m doing better, I’d say. I’ve broken down and got some help… very tired — not sleeping very well as my body adjusts to the med — but I’m in better spirits, as evidenced by (da da da DAAAA shameless plug) http://wp.me/p3hJV8-ZP

i love shameless.. most of the time. And glad you’re doing better! Getting help is the smart thing to do, for a very smart gal. It can really make so much difference, and just allow you to get back to YOU. No shame in help. No weakness… it’s called survival of the fittest. Now, I’m off to check out some shameless plug. 😉

The subtle use of active, passionate language really lends itself to the success of your flash. Fiction. Flash fiction. Freudian slip…my bad.
My terrible attempt at wit aside, this is fantastic. I feel kind of trapped by prompts and I feel as if you captured the spirit of the photo prompt without sacrificing an almost erotic work’s integrity. I will study this, as I need to work this into my own prose.
Thank you for the wonderful prose, as well as the opportunity to learn from your style. Looking forward to my future Fictioneering.

Well thank you so much, and welcome to Tales From the Motherland. I really appreciate you taking the time to read my work and share such a thoughtful and specific feedback. It’s always good to hear what resonates and what doesn’t! This is the 2nd week in a row that I wrote too posts for the prompt… it’s so tempting. Last week I dabbled in VERY dark, and this week soft erotica. Nothing too daring, but I wanted some heat. Glad my flash… fiction worked for you. 😉 I will check out your entry and welcome to the “club.” I warn you, it’s highly addictive and truly rewarding! Please feel free to check out other posts on TFTM and share your thoughts. Many thanks.

I was awake until almost 5:00. Must be something going around! Or is yours jet lag induced? And you made the first row of Friday Fictioneers, too. Nice work, Dawn.

Thanks Patti… no jet lag. I have not mentioned it here, but I’m in the hospital. Pretty serious, and I was up all night that night… and writing is what I do, in all times of stress, celebration, contemplation… I hope to be out in the next couple of days, but may be keeping strange hours for a while, as I get better. Thanks for reading, and your support.
Now, what’s your excuse for being up at such an unGodly hour???
LikeLike
Caffeine, apparently. I had tea at a friend’s late evening, but it was supposed to be decaf. Methinks it wasn’t. I’m sorry to hear you are in the hospital. That would explain the hours, it’s hard to sleep there! Saying a prayer for a quick recovery. Hugs!

Thanks Patti. Just got a cocktail of all kinds of sleepy things… methinks I won’t be able to think much longer, let alone type! Caffein so late in the day… almost always wreaks habit. 🙂

Those dolphins are such voyeurs. I’m sure if you asked them they would say they were just were doing a scientific study of how other species mate. Don’t believe a word of it. Peeping toms every one.

I am catching up and I see you have shared a different facet of your creative imagination – the sensuous, sexy side. Like the old movies that panned toward the window curtains as two lovers embraced, your writing implies everything while leaving much of the imagery for the reader to fill in. Subtle and tasteful like those qualities I know you are imbued with. – Mike
