This is a challenging week to write, but I was determined not to miss a single Friday Fictioneers. I’m on a boat off the coast of Central America– Belize. It could not be more beautiful, or peaceful. There is limited wifi, and I have not sought to use it until now. This morning, I had to check the day– it’s easy to lose track of time, when you’re snorkeling with nurse sharks, sea turtles and rays all day. And that, is truly all I’ve been doing. It’s magic!
However, it’s Wednesday and I didn’t want to miss Friday Fictioneers. I love the wonderful writing community that our leader, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields provides; I make every effort not to miss it. Nice new intro, Rochelle, reminding us all that we ARE a community and should make an effort to connect, and share. That said, I will need to do most of my reading when I get home… This is the first week, that I may not be able to do the reading I usually do. I want my fellow FF to know that I try to read as many stories as possible each week; I believe in that mutual support. I, in turn, really appreciate all the time you share with me. With each of my stories, kind or constructive feedback is always appreciated.

Trust Me Baby
“Here this’ll help you chill.”
Neil handed the small pill to Andie, along with a shot of tequila.
“What is it?” She took a sip. “I don’t want to mess up my lines.”
He pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and leaned in closer.
“It’s your first love scene; this will just help you relax– help make it look real…” His finger traced her neck. “It could be real, baby… You know?”
I’m eighteen. “I know what I’m doing.”
She felt the pill slide down, with the strong liquid, as Neil slid his hand up her back.
“Action!”

Ominous tale – well written as usual. I think it may be better if she only THOUGHT the line about being eighteen — seems awkward to say aloud.

Such amazing sites, and things to enjoy, Lisa! It’s heaven. Cook left the hatch open yesterday, and I fell through the 12×18″ hole… breaking some ribs and some abdominal pain. Mostly, it feels good to float in the water and not much else though. A big bummer… but not a bad place to recover. 😉

Once again a good story well done, Dawn. That’s terrible about your injury. It’s a good thing you’ve got the perfect place to heal. Enjoy the rest of that wonderful vacation. If you haven’t read my story yet, I said that I was late in answering some comments and didn’t read some of the stories because my computer was in the shop from last Fri. until today, Wed. It seems to be working well now.

I hope Neil isn’t some 63 year old slobbering pervert, that’s all I can say. Good story that conveys the danger more women face than we know. Belize sounds terrific, almost went there a couple years ago with my son but we went to Costa Rica instead.

I hope you’re witnessing some gorgeous sights and soaking up the sun! I really enjoyed this story. It was very eerie and made me quite uncomfortable. I wanted so badly to run in there and slap the guy. Ugh, I hope Neil gets what’s coming to him!

Belize? Now I really think you should have taken me along. You’re story is eerily realistic says this thespian. But I do agree with Helena, have Andie think her age. Because as is so obvious she doesn’t have a clue what she is doing. “Trust me Baby” famous last words.

I don’t think I could ever trust anyone that says ‘trust me baby.’ Yuk! I can’t believe she took the pill. You really defined the characters sharply in this. I felt like the characters had depth.

I could say I envy your trip to Belize, but since the Med is only two blocks away I will hold back with that response.
Your story was somewhere between funny and creepy. After it sunk in for a bit, I think it leaned toward the creepy side. You skillfully got the most out of 100 words, a talent I am getting accustomed to seeing from you. Looking forward to more soon. – Mike
